EXAM PATTERN FOLLOWED BY IBPS FOR
P0-2018-19 (PRE & MAINS)
IBPS PO pre exam question pattern is objective. The paper contains 100 questions of 100 marks with these given 3 subjects below.
IBPS-PO PRELIMINARY EXAM PATTERN 2018
The three sections of the preliminary exam are Reasoning ability, Quantitative aptitude, and English language. The number of questions for first sections of Reasoning Ability is 35 and marks allotted for this section is 35. The number of questions in the second section is 35 and marks allotted is 35. The last section of General English would have 30 questions and marks allotted would be 30. So the total marks allotted would be 35+35+30= 100 and total questions would 35+35+30= 100 and total time duration for the complete exam is 1 hour. In IBPS PO online exam pattern there is a concept of negative marking which would be applied in which 0.25 marks would be deducted for every wrong answer. Candidates need to score the cut-off at least in all three sections.

IBPS-PO MAINS EXAM PATTERN 2018
The mains examination is also an online exam which would be conducted for 200+25 (Descriptive) marks and time duration will be 3hr + 30minutes (Descriptive). The mains exam is further divided into 5 sections which are Reasoning& Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis and Interpretation, General/Economy/BankingAwareness (with special reference to banking industry), English Language and English Language (Essay & Letter Writing). The candidates here also need to at least score the cut-off in order to qualify but here one twist is there in IBPS-PO exam marks pattern.
Only securing cut-off is not enough, candidates need to score high marks as after this phase a merit list would be prepared by IBPS wherein the conducting body would arrange the candidates with high marks at the top and the top rankers in the merit list would be given priority for the next round that is interview round and it would be decided as per the number of vacancies.
